Wild and wonderful West Virginia was the location of the Highland
Sky 40 mile run that took place this past June. "Torture, brutal
torture." That's what they said the night before over a mile-high
plate of pasta. Defined as anguish, extreme mental distress, and
unbearable physical pain, torture is the one word that many seasoned
ultra-runners have used to describe the Highlands Sky Trail Run.
Race director Dan Lehmann describes it another way. "It's
forty-miles of wild, wet, and rocky West Virginia." (From

Eva along with a contingent of a few other runners from Frederick
ran the 110th Boston Marathon this past April. The weather was
perfect for running a marathon and heartbreak hill, which should be
called HILLS, wasn't nearly as bad as it's reputation.
